About Course

This course provides essential knowledge and awareness of workplace fire safety procedures, responsibilities, and prevention methods. Learners will gain an understanding of fire safety legislation, employer and employee responsibilities, common causes of workplace fires, and the importance of fire risk assessments.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to respond appropriately in the event of a fire, identify fire hazards, follow evacuation procedures safely, and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment. This course is suitable for all employees and forms part of essential workplace health and safety training.

Course Content

Fire Safety – Module One
The module explains the fire triangle and fire equation, helping learners understand how fires start and how they can be prevented or extinguished. Participants will also learn about different types of fire alarms, fire classifications, methods of extinguishing fires, and the correct use of fire extinguishers using the PASS technique.

Fire Safety – Module Two
This module focuses on the prevention of workplace fires and the correct procedures for safe evacuation during a fire emergency as well as the importance of fire risk assessments, fire action plans, and emergency evacuation procedure. Learners will develop an understanding of how fires can be prevented through effective control of flammable substances, safe use of electricity, proper housekeeping, and the correct use of fire doors.
